FromSoftware is no stranger to keeping Elden Ring fresh with a range of buffs and nerfs. Not too long ago, the studio buffed the Euporia, making it the ultimate god-slaying weapon.

Now, following a nerf to Shadow of the Erdtree’s final boss, players have discovered that any weapon that can be used with a stance has been massively buffed with devastating effect.

Stance Weapons Could Break The Elden Ring Meta

Stance weapons are now broken. The reason? The latest Elden Ring patch buffed the Rellana’s Cameo Talisman, reducing the delay before “the damage enhancement activities” and increasing the damage enhancement.

Effectively, any weapon that uses a power stance, when coupled with the Talisman, deals major damage.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Rellana’s Twin Blades
  • Moonveil Katana
  • Sword of Night and Flame
  • Devonia’s Hammer
  • Dryleaf Arts

The buffs are best indicated in a YouTube video by creator Hyde, who shows just how powerful these new power stances are. Playing at level 150, with a level 12 Scadutree Blessing, Hyde was able to make short work of the likes of base game bosses Malenia and Maliketh and Shadow of the Erdtree bosses Commander Gaius and Promised Consort Radahn, using a variety of different weapons, including those listed above.

Rellana’s Twin Blades are now even more viable, as alongside the talisman’s buff, the weapon received better attribute scaling for “lower intelligence and Faith attributes.” The Twin Blade’s Moon-And-Fire Stance also received a further buff, increasing the light wave range, poise damage, attack speed, and poise damage from the stance’s heavy attack.

For those who are a little more magic-orientated, Reallan’s Twin Moons also received a boost, with the attack range for the first and second attacks increasing.

While it’s only been a couple of days since the patch was released, it’s already clear how much of a difference it has made, and it will be interesting to see how it shapes PVP going forward.
